He recalled a story told to him by his late great-uncle, Sam Urquhart. Urquhart, who died last year aged 75, served in the US Airforce for 28 years and eventually became a contractor at Area 51, the classified Airforce base in Nevada whose secretive nature has seen it play a central role in many extraterrestrial conspiracy theories.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Taber said he repeatedly quizzed his uncle about his time at Area 51, but every attempt to elicit information from Urquhart was met with silence. Finally, though, near the end of his life, the Air Force veteran decided to share some of his experiences.
