Advising employers on complex workplace issues, Sally Piefer has helped businesses navigate the evolving landscape of employment law for three decades.
Piefer is a shareholder with Lindner & Marsack, where she also serves on the firm’s Board of Directors. Her practice includes drafting and enforcing employee agreements like non-competes and confidentiality covenants, ensuring they are strategically tailored to each organization and compliant with state-specific requirements.
“Give serious consideration to deciding what the purpose is for asking employees to sign restrictive covenants. They are not one-size-fits-all,” she said of the advice she imparts upon clients.
A trusted advisor to HR and leadership teams, Piefer emphasizes proactive education and communication, regularly updating her clients on updates in laws and regulations, especially for those with multi-state operations. She also maintains a strong litigation practice where she represents employers in discrimination suits, wage and hour matters and unemployment compensation claims.
Piefer was previously recognized by the Wisconsin Law Journal as a Women in the Law award recipient.
