Experts warn recent changes to employment law could leave some Northern Beaches businesses exposed.
Managing Director of Brookvale based consultancy Allan Hall Human Resources Gordon Parish (main image) has warned that after a long period of stability, small and medium sized businesses may be caught out by recent changes to the law.
“Since a period of changes to industrial relations laws in the mid-2000s with WorkChoices, through to the Fair Work Act in 2010, we have had a reasonably stable period of employment law.
“Everyone got used to operating under those conditions but there have been some changes made recently that every business needs to be aware of, because some businesses may find themselves exposed without realising it,” said Mr Parish.
Concerned that many small and medium businesses may be caught unaware of recent changes that affect all businesses, Allan Hall Human Resources held a well-attended free briefing this morning (Thursday, 13 July) at their Brookvale office, which was open to all Northern Beaches businesses.
