Andersons Marathon Holdings LLC has agreed to pay $1.7 million to settle alleged violations of a law to give communities information about toxic chemicals they may be exposed to, the EPA announced Wednesday.
The company, which produces ethanol, agreed to pay $1,731,256 in what the Environmental Protection Agency described as the largest penalty ever obtained under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) and its related Toxics Release Inventory (TRI).
