A former executive is accusing AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP of illegally terminating her after she reported sexual harassment and blew the whistle about flaws in a company project that sought state funding, a new Maryland federal court suit said.
Ilse Blumentals said she faced retaliation for questioning a supervisor’s portrayal to company management of a proposed manufacturing process that she believed wasn’t working properly, and for reporting a female employee’s sexual harassment allegations to human resources, according to the filing in the US District Court for the District of Maryland.
