Republicans’ accusations of political bias in the Biden administration’s Justice Department appeared to gain more steam Monday amid fresh evidence that former FBI agent Timothy Thibault hid whistleblower intelligence in the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.
Thibault resigned last month amid accusations that he ran interference for the Biden family ahead of the 2020 election concerning the contents of the abandoned laptop. Numerous emails and phone conversations stored in the computer’s hard drive exposed the younger Biden’s lucrative foreign business deals and cut into then-presidential candidate Joe Biden’s assertions that he had “no knowledge” of his son’s business ventures.
The New York Post reported Monday that Thibault was the “point man” for whistleblower and former Hunter Biden business partner Tony Bobulinski, but never followed up with him about the younger Biden’s shady foreign business deals that took place when Joe Biden was serving as vice president in the Obama administration.
Republicans and other critics have pointed to the laptop’s contents as evidence that Hunter Biden was cashing in on his father’s political position while Joe Biden received a percentage of the profits.
Bobulinski alleged that Joe Biden was involved with his son Hunter and brother Jim’s business dealings with Chinese energy company CEFC, which purportedly yielded $4.8 million in profits for the Bidens in 2017 and 2018. Despite Bobulinski’s bombshell revelation,...
