The former chief financial officer and vice president of administration and finance for Indian River State College is suing his past employer, the college's president, its board of trustees and the executive director of its foundation, alleging whistleblower retaliation and wrongful termination.
Marvin Pyles, who worked for IRSC from April 2021 to April 2024, alleges in the lawsuit that his attempts to uncover and oppose "gross mismanagement, malfeasance, misfeasance and the gross waste of public funds" led President Timothy Moore to fire him, despite Pyles having positive performance reviews and never having been disciplined during his employment.
