“A book is a perfect forum to explore the nuance and complexity of the problems Facebook faces, and I’m very excited about this collaboration,” Haugen wrote Thursday in a tweet. “As I learned from my mother, ‘every human being deserves the dignity of the truth.’”
The former Facebook project manager testified before Congress in October after leaking documents that showed the tech giant prioritized profits over children’s mental health.
“Facebook’s products harm children, stoke division and weaken our democracy,” she said on Capitol Hill. “The company’s leadership knows how to make Facebook and Instagram safer but won’t make the necessary changes because they have put their astronomical profits before people.
