Fact Check: Claims of Pakistan destroying an S-400 air defence system of India is Fake - DFRAC

Claim

An X user named BRICS News (@BRICSinfo) shared a post with a claim of Pakistan destroying an S-400 air defense system of India.

User BRICS News, shared text: “JUST IN: Pakistan says it destroyed an Indian S-400 air defense system.” This had emojis of flags of Pakistan and India.

The user shared the post with two images, one of Pakistan’s national flag and other of a military equipment with India’s national flag.

Another user, Jackson Hinkle shared a similar claim of Pakistan destroyed an S-400 air defence system.

Fact Check

To investigate the claim, our team listened to the MEA press briefing.

During the MEA press briefing, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh informed the media about India’s swift and precise strikes at identified military targets in Pakistan.

Wing Commander also informed of malicious misinformation campaign from Pakistan, with claims of destruction of the Indian S-400 system, along with destruction of airfields at Sirsa and elsewhere. India unequivocally rejects these false claims being spread by Pakistan.
