Hoping to bounce back from her second-place finish at the state Republican convention in May, right-wing Senate candidate Leora Levy dialed back this week to long-runing claims that Democrats are seeking to “undermine the integrity of our elections.”
Specifically, in an email to her supporters on Wednesday, Levy focused on a lawsuit filed by President Joe Biden’s Justice Department challenging an Arizona law requiring that voters provide documents proving their citizenship status in order to vote in federal elections.
Levy’s campaign called the law “common sense,” and the Justice Department lawsuit a “gross, extreme attack on our nation’s democracy.” While those are opinions, Hearst Connecticut media reviewed other claims made in the email involving the supposed aims of Blumenthal and other Democrats.
