A letter from a solicitor in South Yorkshire has advised schools in England to cancel COVID-19 vaccinations, having falsely claimed that a criminal investigation into the rollout is underway.
Copies of the letter, dated Feb. 3 and signed by a Lois Bayliss of Broad Yorkshire Law, have been shared online, along with encouragement for people to download, print and send them to their local schools (here and here).
According to Bayliss, COVID-19 vaccines are under police investigation due to safety concerns. She cites a crime reference number, 6029679/21, as evidence of the probe and advises staff to cancel any scheduled vaccinations, and to forward her letter to parents.
“Should you fail to cancel the immunisation session you will render yourself liable for any losses sustained as a result of the visit and liability could include criminal liability,” she adds.
However, these claims are not based in fact. Crime reference number 6029679/21 was issued by the Metropolitan Police in December after a person made an allegation of a vaccine-related crime.
A review of documents was then carried out to decide whether an investigation was warranted – but the force told Reuters on several occasions in January that there was “nothing to indicate” a crime was committed.
Therefore, an investigation was not launched (here and here).
Broad Yorkshire Law was not immediately available for comment.
