Fairfax County will host a multi-jurisdictional fair housing and equal employment event on Sept. 21 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. To attend, RSVPs are requested.
Called “Human Rights: Legal Updates and Emerging Frontiers,” this in-person event will be held in the Government Center Board Auditorium, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax.
Light refreshments and networking opportunities will be offered starting at 9:30 a.m.
Two keynote speakers will address housing and employment issues:
- Demetria L. McCain, the principal deputy assistant secretary for fair housing and equal opportunity for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, will discuss the disparate impact discrimination in housing.
- Mindy Weinstein, director of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s Washington Field Office, will address the new Pregnant Workers Fairness Act.
