‘False’: Agent rubbishes claims Aston Villa have agreed deal for £9m man - HITC - Football, Gaming, Movies, TV, Music

Reports suggesting Aston Villa’s Premier League misfit Trezeguet has agreed a permanent move to Besiktas are ‘completely false’, the winger’s agent tells Cumhuriyet.

With six goals and four assists in just 13 Super Lig games, Trezeguet’s loan spell in the Turkish capital could hardly have gone better.

And, given the choice, the 2020 Turkish champions would surely jump at the opportunity to keep the Egypt international around as they look to take back their title next term. According to reports, top-flight rivals and near neighbours Besiktas are also hot on Trezeguet’s heels.

Aston Villa are unlikely to stand in the 27-year-old’s way.

9 million Trezeguet, a 2019 signing from Kasimpasa, played only ten minutes of Premier League football under Steven Gerrard before departing in January and has been pushed even further down the pecking order following Philippe Coutinho’s arrival.

But reports suggesting that Trezeguet is on the verge of an Aston Villa exit are, it seems, a little premature.

“The news from Turkey that Besiktas have agreed (a deal) with Trezeguet is completely false,” Christian Emile, the former Anderlecht man’s agent, explains.

“But we are in talks with some European clubs.”

Aston Villa will listen to offers for Morgan Sanson and Bertrand Traore this summer, while Tyrone Mings, Danny Ings, Anwar El Ghazi and Matt Targett are also facing uncertain futures.
