The claim: Video shows the National Library of France on fire
A July 4 Instagram video shows a large building on fire.
"Paris, France," reads the post's caption. "How do you feel about the arson attack on the Bibliothèque nationale de France?"
The caption goes on to cite two supposed articles published by Reuters and The New York Times and claims the fire was started by "radical Islamists." It also claims French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the attack and "vowed to protect the country's cultural heritage."
The post garnered more than 1,000 likes in a day. Similar versions of the claim have been shared on Twitter.

The video shows the Central Post Office in Manila, Philippines, burning in May 2023. There have been no reports of any libraries in France being set on fire.

The fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy of Algerian and Moroccan descent by police in a Paris suburb on June 27 has prompted riots across France.
Though hundreds of cars and buildings have reportedly been set on fire during these riots, the Central Library of France has not been targeted.
The footage shared in the Instagram post matches the video of a burning building shared on May 21 on Facebook and Twitter by the Manila Public Information Office. Those posts identify the burning building as the Central Post Office in Manila.
