False Claim: No Air Force Officers in Bangladesh were dismissed for ties to RAW - DFRAC ORG

Some Pakistan-based accounts have shared the claim stating that, Bangladesh court-martialled and sacked 7 senior Air Force officers for links with the Indian intelligence agency RAW.

Multiple accounts named @TheDailyCPEC, @PakUrdu_, and @Defense_Talks have shared the claim.

Fact Check

Upon investigation, we found the claim to be fake. Bangladeshi media outlets have reported that the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a protest statement refuting the misinformation contained in a report titled “Leak of ‘RAW’ Network Inside the Air Force”, which was published on August 4 by the Dainik Amar Desh newspaper, its YouTube channel, and online platform.

The report by Dainik Amar Desh alleged that 6 senior officers from the Bangladesh Air Force were identified and forcibly retired due to suspected links with foreign intelligence agencies, specifically India’s RAW. However, the ISPR clarified that these claims are unfounded and do not align with official records maintained by the Air Force.

ISPR explained that the officers retired in the usual way, after finishing their full service time, following all the rules. They also made it clear that the story about them being linked to foreign spies is false and has no proof.

Even though ISPR shared the real information, the media outlet kept spreading the false story, which ISPR said is misleading and harmful.
