False claims: AIMIM corporator booked - Ahmedabad Mirror

The Vejalpur police have booked AIMIM corporator Zainab Sheikh, party worker Munjir Saiyed, Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) worker Imran Nandoliya and one Sarfaraz Mansuri for spreading false claims over religious discrimination.

Recently, a fake video showing a rickshaw driver being thrashed after being asked about his religion, went viral. Soon after, a video went viral claiming the driver was beaten after being asked his religion.

As the video spread, police swung into action to avoid any communal tension ahead of Rath Yatra. The rickshaw driver, 37-year-old Abbas Khan alias Meenu Pathan, was admitted to a hospital in Juhapura in an unconscious state. While being questioned, he admitted to having consumed alcohol and hitting vehicles. He denied anyone beating him over religion. Based on Pathan’s statement and after a detailed probe Vejalpur police found that no such assault, based on religion, took place.
