Panaji, Sept 23 (PTI) Goa Town and Country Planning Minister Vishwajit Rane on Wednesday slammed the Opposition over “false claims” that the government has lifted reservation and converted large tracts of land into the “development” zone.
“In the last four-and-a-half years, only 0.296 per cent of the land has been converted to settlement from non-settlement area,” Rane told reporters, highlighting the government’s commitment to preserve greenery in the coastal state.
He said “14 lakh square metres” of land have been converted (to development zone), while “20 crore square metres” of land has been declared as “no development zone”.
