In the information space of European countries, there has been a rise in disinformation campaigns aimed at discrediting international aid to Ukraine and shifting responsibility for the war from Russia to Western nations.
According to available information, messages consistent with Kremlin propaganda are being disseminated through a number of local media outlets known for their anti-Western and pro-Russian stance.
In particular, these publications promote the claim that EU and NATO countries allegedly seek direct military conflict with Russia.
Separately, the claim is being circulated that arms supplies to Ukraine constitute “incitement to war.”
According to the authors of the analysis, such messages are used to shape the European audience’s perception of support for Ukraine.
Another aspect of these information campaigns is the attempt to discredit Ukraine’s right to self-defense.
In particular, the authors of such publications attempt to cast doubt on Ukraine’s legitimate right to defend itself under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
At the same time, they try to convince their audience that ending military and defense support for Ukraine will supposedly lead to a quicker peace.
According to this logic, aid to Kyiv is presented not as support for a state defending itself against aggression, but as a factor prolonging the war.
