False claims: Three company owners detained, remanded by MACC - New Straits Times
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has detained three company owners to probe into their false claims involving a supply quote to a Federal Government agency amounting to over RM400,000.
According to a source, all three male suspects aged between 42 and 51 years old were suspected of making false claims to a government agency involving health in Sarikei district, Sarawak between 2020 and last year.
The four-day remand order for three, from today (Feb 10) to Feb 14, was issued by deputy Court registrar Frouline Aging at the Sarikei magistrate's court after the MACC made the application this morning (Feb 10).
According to the source, all three suspects were believed to have been detained at around 5.45pm yesterday (Feb 9) as they turned up to give their statements at the MACC branch office in Sibu, Sarawak.
Meanwhile, Sarawak MACC director Mohd Zaki Hassan confirmed the arrests and said that the case was being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act of 2009.
