A woman who posted false claims on social media that actor Park Sihoo (birth name: Park Pyungho, 49) introduced women to her ex-husband, causing her family to fall apart, was sentenced to prison.
Seo Beomjun, presiding judge of the Seoul Eastern District Court’s Criminal Division 2, said on October 29 that he had sentenced the woman, identified as A, to 10 months in prison. She had been indicted on charges of theft, defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and violating the Personal Information Protection Act.
A was sent to trial on charges of posting on Instagram and Threads in August 2025 that Park had been introducing women to her ex-husband since 2020, causing her family to fall apart. At the time, A stole her ex-husband’s cellphone and passport, then posted claims to this effect on her social media two days later.
The court explained its sentencing, saying, “The consequences of the crimes are serious, and she has prior convictions resulting in fines for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act.
