BOONE COUNTY, Ky. —
The family of a Northern Kentucky aid worker who died last week is now moving forward with his whistleblower lawsuit over dozens of cases of child abuse.
Aaron William's father, Tim Williams, filed a lawsuit against Kentucky's Cabinet for Health and Family Services back in 2015.
Williams said he was retaliated against for calling out a failure to investigate 93 alleged child abuse cases.

"He should be the one here. I shouldn't have to be here," Aaron said. "And we're just looking to try to maintain some, maintain some dignity for him and seek the justice he rightfully deserved.

An original settlement of $22 million was reached in 2022. The cabinet appealed it and a retrial was supposed to start Monday.
Aaron is expected to be substituted in as the plaintiff once it resumes.
