Fanshawe College Moving Ahead with 35% Staffing Cut in 2025 - Samfiru Tumarkin LLP

What’s Happening at Fanshawe College?

Fanshawe College has informed faculty and support staff unions that it’s moving ahead with its previously announced workforce reduction — which will affect approximately 35% of staff, or around 400 positions.

President Peter Devlin told employees in a recent email that a portion of the job cuts will be offset by early retirements and unfilled vacancies. However, an exact number wasn’t disclosed.

The move comes as the London-based college is currently facing a $38.6-million shortfall in its 2025/26 budget.
