Farmworkers' Nearly $7.9 Million Wage Deal Wins First Court Nod - Bloomberg Law

Approximately 20,500 seasonal agricultural workers and three companies whose fields they labored in may move forward with a nearly $7.9 million deal to resolve their wage-and-hour suit after almost a decade of litigation.

More than $4.6 million of the settlement will go to the workers, after accounting for attorneys’ fees and other expenses, representing somewhere between 20% and 28% of the estimated wages and interest recovery amount, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said, granting the preliminary approval motion.
