More than 20,800 seasonal agricultural workers and three companies they worked for received final court approval for a nearly $7.9 million settlement resolving their wage-and-hour dispute.
The farmworkers will receive nearly $4.7 million after accounting for attorneys’ fees and other expenses, which represents 20% to 28% of their estimated recovery if the case didn’t settle, in line with other class settlements, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said.
