Fastenal $2.4 Million California Wage Settlement Gets Early Nod - Bloomberg Law

Fastenal Co.‘s agreement to pay $2.4 million to settle class claims it violated California wage and hour law should get preliminary approval, a federal magistrate judge said.

Mieshia Marie Jackson brought a number of claims against the industrial supplies company including failure to pay overtime wages and failure to provide compliant meal and rest breaks or pay missed break premiums. Jackson’s principal claim was that Fastenal had an allegedly unlawful rest period policy that required workers to stay on the premises or in designated areas during their rest periods.
