FBI agent under fire in Hunter Biden saga rejects GOP request to testify - Washington Examiner

The FBI agent who recently left the bureau following whistleblower allegations that he shut down evidence about the Hunter Biden investigation is rejecting congressional Republicans' requests to testify.

Timothy Thibault, the former FBI assistant special agent in charge of the Washington Field Office, closed up a key line of inquiry into now-President Joe Biden's son in October 2020 despite some of the evidence being known to be true at the time, according to whistleblower allegations. Republicans in the House and Senate are calling for Thibault to speak with them.

But the now-retired FBI official rejected the interview request from Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee who has vowed to pursue this further if the GOP wins a majority and he gets the gavel following the November midterm elections.

“Concerning the request for an interview, because the subject matter pertains to sensitive law enforcement information and/or pending investigations, our client is not in a position to accept this invitation at this juncture,” Thibault lawyer Charles Duross of Morrison-Foerster told Jordan earlier this month in a letter first obtained by the New York Post.

Jordan has now blasted Thibault about the FBI’s official’s decision not to sit down for an interview.
