WASHINGTON (TNND) — An FBI whistleblower who accused Rudi Giuliani of having ties to Russia is now being represented by the same law firm which represented Hunter Biden, according to Just The News.
Johnathan Buma claimed in 2023 the FBI stifled his investigation of Giuliani’s potential ties to Russia. He is being prosecuted in California for alleged illegal disclosure of confidential information.
Buma is now represented in that case by Geragos & Geragos, the publication reported. That high-profile law firm represented Hunter Biden among other major figures such as former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
The law firm did not return a request for comment from The National News Desk Wednesday about the report.
A Change.org petition for Buma launched last month demands Attorney General Pam Bondi, among other Justice Department leaders, treat Buma fairly during his trial.
“Johnathan Buma dedicated 15 years to serving the United States as an FBI counterintelligence officer,” it reads. Recently, he spoke out about what he believed was political bias within the Bureau, risking his career to expose the truth.”
“This arrest seems like an attempt to silence a man who stood up for transparency,” it continues. We demand that Johnathan Buma receive fair treatment and that his whistleblower status be respected. The government must protect, not prosecute, those who expose the truth.”
