The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) received 281 new whistleblowing reports in Q4 2025, slightly down from the 292 received during the same period in 2024.
Every report will have one or more allegations of wrongdoing, the watchdog said, with the 281 reports received between October and December containing 788 allegations in total. Compliance attracted the most complaints, with 109, followed by fitness and propriety (99) and organisational culture (67).
The FCA’s whistleblowing team closed 282 reports during the period and took significant action to manage harm in nine cases, or 3% of the total. It also took action to reduce harm in 96 cases (34% of the total), including writing to or visiting a firm, asking for information or requiring a company to attest that it was complying with the rules.
The Q4 data took 2025’s total number of new whistleblowing reports to 1,282.
