Feds accuse San Antonio restaurant of violating labor laws, making ... - San Antonio Express-News

The owner of Barbaro, an Italian restaurant and bar in San Antonio, has been sued by the U.S. Labor Department — accused of violating federal labor laws by requiring its tipped employees to give a portion of their gratuities to at least one of their managers.

The Labor Department also alleges in its lawsuit that Pizza Bar LLC, which does business as Barbaro at 2720 McCullough Ave., unlawfully denied at least 25 current and former employees minimum wage and overtime compensation for more than three years.
