Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York and the Middle District of Tennessee on Friday intervened in a civil suit against the health insurance giant Cigna, alleging that the company submitted false diagnoses to inflate payments it received from the Medicare Advantage Program.
A spokesperson for Cigna said the company rejects the allegations.
