BAY CITY — A longtime Bay City physician is facing a federal civil lawsuit alleging he billed Medicare nearly $500,000 for complex surgical neurostimulator procedures that the government says were never performed, instead providing patients with comparatively inexpensive electro-acupuncture devices during brief office visits.
The United States filed the False Claims Act lawsuit against Dr. Michael Neret on Sept. 4 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. The U.S. Attorney’s Office publicly announced the case Sept. 29. Federal court records identify the case as United States of America v. Neret, No. 4:26-cv-07450.
