FICAC to question Charlie Charters today over alleged whistleblower aid - Fiji Sun

Charlie Charters is under investigation on suspicion of aiding and abetting a FICAC whistleblower under Section 45 of the Crimes Act 2009.

The alleged whistleblower is accused of breaching Section 13G of the FICAC Act by divulging official information.

Charters made the revelation through a statement released through his legal counsel, saying he had been held overnight at FICAC’s office in Suva and is scheduled to be questioned today.

He added that at the Nadi Airport yesterday, he was offered a “deal” that would have allowed him to continue on his flight to Sydney, but he found the terms unacceptable, resulting in his arrest.

Charters thanked the FICAC officers handling his case for their professionalism, noting they were as professional, considerate and attentive as they can be in this situation.

He also expressed gratitude for the messages of support received by him and his family during this time.
