Corie Holmes, Detroit’s top bus safety officer, has filed a whistleblower lawsuit in Wayne County Circuit Court against the city and his boss, alleging he was fired for reporting misconduct by senior officials and cooperating with an Inspector General investigation, Metro Times reports.
Holmes, the former chief safety officer for the Detroit Department of Transportation, names the city and DDOT Director Robert J. Cramer in the suit that was filed earlier this month.
Steve Neavling of Metro Times reports that Cramer fired Holmes for “misrepresentation of authority” after he conducted his own investigation into the erratic behavior of DDOT Chief of Staff Jennie Whitfield.
The city declined comment to Metro Times.
