Florida Company Beats Fired Employee's PPP Retaliation Claim - Bloomberg Law

Great Dane Petroleum Contractors Inc. won dismissal of a former employee’s claim that it violated the False Claims Act by firing her in retaliation for complaining about allegedly improper use of nearly $3 million received under the Paycheck Protection Program.

Amber Rucker’s FCA claim failed because the petroleum company demonstrated that it fired her for stealing from the company, Judge Sheri Polster Chappell of the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida said in a Wednesday order.
