A Lee Memorial Health System patient’s suit against the facility for her alleged sexual assault by one of its employees can go to trial, a federal court said.
Julie Love’s civil rights claims against the public health-care system can proceed because there is a genuine issue of material fact over whether Lee Memorial knew of a need to investigate and supervise its employee and made a deliberate choice not to do so, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida said.
