The article about the state firing James Gaddis for leaking the information about the state’s proposal to add golf courses and hotels to our state parks is nothing more than Gov. Ron DeSantis needing a scapegoat — someone to take the fall for his never-ending spin on the story. Sadly, I’m not surprised. To my recollection, DeSantis has never taken any responsibility for anything regarding this state that doesn’t benefit him personally. In my opinion, Gaddis deserves a commendation from the state for taking action with Florida residents’ best interest in mind. His termination letter states that “employees shall place the interests of the public ahead of their personal interest.” That is exactly what he was doing. Thank you Mr. Gaddis. Any organization with integrity at all would be lucky to have you. I wish you well.
