Summer is a popular time for many businesses, including school districts and colleges, to employ seasonal staff — often teens.
According to the article, the most common child labor violations include:
- Scheduling youth for longer shifts or a later shift than allowed
- Driving a motor vehicle when not permitted
- Use of power-driven machinery
- Performing hazardous work
