[Sports Chosun Reporter Baek Ji-eun] A, the former daughter-in-law of Hong Seo-beom and Jo Gap-kyung, has spoken out once again.
A posted a lengthy statement on their account on the 26th.
A revealed, "Is there really no law for victims? Even after receiving consolation money, I have to pay more because of the money given under the guise of investment, and child support remains unchanged. These perpetrators, who appear on health programs, attend school excellently, and prepare for employment exams, are being helped to live well."
A added angrily, "This is so unfair. Why should the victim endure more harm and loss? I have evidence I haven’t disclosed yet—should I hide it? The other woman even threatened me through her friend’s father. I hope this year’s employment exam goes well for her. I will report this to the education office. How can someone who committed adultery become a teacher?"
A met Hong, the son of Hong Seo-beom and Jo Gap-kyung, in August 2021 through an acquaintance and married him in February 2024. Though they became pregnant a month later, A filed a lawsuit in October 2024 to dissolve the de facto marriage and claim consolation money, alleging that Hong had an affair with a colleague, B, starting in April 2024.
The Daejeon Family Court ruled in partial favor of A in September 2025. The court ordered Hong to pay A 30 million Korean won in consolation money and 800,000 Korean won monthly in child support, but A appealed, arguing the amounts were insufficient.
