Former FBI head James Comey indicted by grand jury following Trump's call for prosecution - WTGS

WASHINGTON (TNND) — Former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director James Comey was indicted on two counts of making false statements and obstruction of justice on Thursday.

President Donald Trump immediately took to Truth Social to share his thoughts about the charges.

JUSTICE IN AMERICA! One of the worst human beings this Country has ever been exposed to is James Comey, the former Corrupt Head of the FBI," the president wrote. "Today he was indicted by a Grand Jury on two felony counts for various illegal and unlawful acts. He has been so bad for our Country, for so long, and is now at the beginning of being held responsible for his crimes against our Nation. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Comey responded to the indictment, claiming that he's "innocent." He added his actions were the "costs" of standing up to Trump.

The development comes just days after Trump seemingly urged U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to prosecute Comey, as well as several other of his political adversaries.
