Sarah Parker alleges the district gave her an ultimatum after multiple students used a Snapchat group chat to plot on her dismissal.
FORT DAVIS, Texas — Sarah Parker claims Fort Davis Independent School District administrators presented her with six allegations from students on March 25, including showing inappropriate content in class and discussing her sexuality.
But Parker, who identifies as a lesbian, says the allegations are false.
"I don't even talk about my private life with anyone," said Parker. "I don't discuss it because I do know that I live in West Texas. It's just a conservative area, and you don't do that."
A week later, Parker claims the superintendent gave her a written ultimatum, asking her to resign within four days or her conduct would be discussed publicly.
She says she chose resignation to avoid the humiliation.
"I wrote a scathing resignation, and then I resigned under huge protest because when I went in, I gave them my rebuttal to all these allegations, nothing was even looked at," said Parker.
Parker believes the allegations stem from four junior girls who did not appreciate being held accountable. The former high school teacher and coach says she gave one of them a zero on a late assignment and refused to let the others play basketball without signing her code of conduct.
