Former Legal Aid B.C. employee posts 'deeply offensive' Charlie Kirk video - Vancouver Sun

Legal Aid B.C. is denouncing a “deeply offensive” video posted by a former employee and Victoria social worker that celebrates the assassination of right-wing U.S. activist Charlie Kirk.

“Charlie Kirk got shot and he’s dead. Hahahaha,” the short selfie clip begins. “Finally, finally, someone with a gun, which is almost everybody in the f—ing States, grew a pair and f—ing went and shot somebody on the right side. Thank you, can we keep this up please?”

The video began circulating on several social media accounts soon after Kirk, a 31-year-old Conservative commentator and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed at a campus event at a Utah university on Wednesday.

An Instagram account for “Dev Cass” under the handle @sharpestrazorbladeyoucanfind, where the video was apparently first posted, is now private.

Legal Aid B.C. condemned the online video “featuring a former employee” in a statement on Thursday.

“The video contains statements and views that are deeply offensive and do not align with the core values, principles, or mission of our organization,” said the organization, a provincial Crown corporation that provides free advice on criminal and family law, child protection and immigration issues to those who can’t afford a lawyer.
