Former Michigan, West Virginia and Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez reportedly taking Jacksonville State job - 247Sports

Former Michigan, West Virginia and Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez is reportedly being hired as the next head coach at FCS program Jacksonville State. FootballScoop first reported Rodriguez's emergence as the Gamecocks' top target, and Ryan Brown of ABC 33/40 News in Alabama reported the finalization of the hiring. Rodriguez served as the offensive coordinator for Louisiana-Monroe this past season.

Rodriguez owns a career record of 118-83 at the FBS level between Michigan, West Virginia and Arizona. He also previously coached at NAIA school Glenville State and Division II school Salem University. Arizona fired Rodriguez after the 2017 season; he was out of coaching during 2018 and '20 but served as Ole Miss' offensive coordinator in 2019. Rodriguez was accused of sexual harassment and creation of a hostile workplace environment at Arizona, and those charges were dismissed in October, according to ESPN.

The lawsuit had loomed over Rodriguez since 2017, when a former administrative assistant made the said allegations against the former Wildcats coach and the school. The dismissal does not include a settlement agreement or a nondisclosure agreement, according to ESPN.

"This brings closure to a 4-year saga, affirming what we have maintained from the beginning — that the plaintiff fabricated claims of harassment in an attempt to exact a large financial settlement," Bennett Speyer, Rodriguez's attorney, said in a statement to ESPN's Adam Rittenberg.
