Former Shine national employment head joins byrne∙dean - Lawyers Weekly

Workplace behaviour and culture firm byrnedean has appointed the former employment and discrimination practice leader at national practice Shine Lawyers to lead its strategy offering.

Samantha Mangwana (pictured) has joined byrnedean and will initially be operating out of both Sydney and London.

She brings, the firm said in a statement, “her deep, coalface experience of employment problems” to provide strategic support to clients seeking cultural change. She has advised individuals (employees, executives, and partners) and organisations on contentious workplace disputes, high-value severance negotiations and managing exits smoothly, and her experience includes working on very high-profile discrimination and whistleblowing cases, such as within the legal and financial services sectors.

Ms Mangwana has come across from Shine Lawyers, where she was the employment and discrimination practice leader for almost four years. Prior to this, she was a partner at CM Murray LLP in London and a principal at Slater & Gordon Lawyers UK.

She will lead byrnedean’s strategy offering.
