A former Signet Maritime Corp. human resources manager couldn’t get the marine logistics company’s state trade secrets and breach of fiduciary duty claims dismissed from a federal district court.
Signet accused Eric Nykanen of wrongfully disclosing its confidential business information, and of disclosing the private health information of another Signet employee to co-workers after he resigned, according to the Thursday opinion in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Nykanen sought to dismiss state law claims saying Signet failed to allege an injury, and that Judge Lee H. Rosenthal should decline to exercise supplemental jurisdiction.
