Former telemedicine company owner gets 7 years for role in $136M kickback scheme - Compliance Week

A former co-owner of two telemedicine companies who helped orchestrate $136 million in Medicare fraud was sentenced to seven years in prison for his role in the nationwide bribery and kickback scheme involving orthotic braces, doctors, and false claims.

Reinaldo Wilson, who, with his wife, Jean Wilson, a nurse practitioner, was co-owner of Advantage Choice Care (ACC) and Tele Medcare, was also ordered to pay $27.9 million in restitution, the DOJ said in a press release Thursday.
