VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The U.S. Department of Justice announced that a former Vestal business owner will have to pay $130,000 for lying about his business being eligible to receive pandemic relief funding.
The DOJ says that Mark Mushalla owned M Squared Staffing LLC, which had a café and events center in the Vestal Coal House.
Mushalla’s licensing agreement in the Coal House expired Dec. 31, 2020.
Officials say he applied for a federally funded pandemic relief fund through the Small Business Administration on May 4, 2021.
