Former WINNER member Nam Tae Hyun and his girlfriend, Seo Min Jae, due to reported drug use and violence.

The issue started when Seo Min Jae, who once participated in the reality dating show Heart Signal 3, posted a since-deleted Instagram post in which she claimed that she and the K-pop idol were drug addicts.

Multiple Korean news outlets, including Edaily and Korea JoongAng Daily, managed to record the caption. Seo Min Jae declared in the post that Nam Tae Hyun used Philopon (methamphetamine).

She added that she has his syringe somewhere in her room or at her workplace. Aside from the drug use, she also claimed that Nam Tae Hyun hit her.

Although Seo Min Jae deleted the post, people who saw it reported it to the police.

Police Start Probe into Nam Tae Hyun’s Drug Use

On August 21, the authorities revealed they would conduct an investigation regarding the accusations.

SBS News revealed that the Seoul Yongsan Police Station officially launched the probe "to see if there is any truth to the allegations."

“We don’t have a concrete schedule [for our investigations]. We are investigating in order to ascertain the facts before making an indictment,” a spokesperson said.
