Jenny Collins’ recent letter to the editor shows she has swallowed the lies and misinformation spewed by Donald Trump and his campaign about the supposed disaster Kamala Harris would bring to the U.S. economy if she is elected in November.
Let’s take a look at some of the issues Collins mentioned, starting with illegal immigration.

The numbers of illegal entries peaked after the pandemic receded, but Trump worked to kill the bipartisan Senate bill that would have been the first major immigration reform since the 1980s. The reason? He didn’t want to give President Biden credit for signing the bill. Left with few options, Biden then issued a series of executive orders to tighten the immigration flow.
You may ask why we don’t stop admitting undocumented workers altogether. The simple reason is that it would create massive chaos in the economy. Who would work in the millions of unskilled jobs from agriculture, meat processing plants, landscaping, construction and more?
