Garrigues has hired Jaime Silva (pictured) as a partner in its Labour Department in Madrid, effective April 23, 2026. The appointment is subject to ratification by the firm’s partners’ meeting. Silva brings more than 22 years of professional experience in employment law, advising both domestic and international companies across a range of sectors including banking, insurance, and pharmaceuticals. He comes from Labormatters.
Silva is a returning figure at Garrigues, having spent the first ten years of his career at the firm before moving to other practices. His return marks a strategic reinforcement of the department’s litigation and collective bargaining capabilities.
Background and expertise
Silva holds a law degree from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) and a master’s degree in Legal Consultancy from Instituto de Empresa. His practice focuses on strategic employment law advice and the management of recurring legal needs arising from business operations.
He is particularly noted for his experience in representing companies in employment litigation and collective disputes, as well as in collective bargaining and senior management advisory work. Beyond his practice, Silva is a regular speaker at employment law forums and conferences, and serves as a lecturer on various master’s and postgraduate programmes. He is also the author of several specialist publications in labour law and is a member of the Madrid Bar Association.
