Garrigues has brought in Juan Grangel as partner responsible for the employment practice in Aragón, strengthening its Zaragoza office. Grangel joins from Baker McKenzie, where he had been working as of counsel in the Madrid employment practice since 2023. A Labour and Social Security Inspector currently on leave of absence, he returns to his home region of Aragón — he holds a law degree from the University of Zaragoza — to lead the practice.
Grangel’s career spans both private practice and senior public administration roles. He has served as head of the Health and Safety Unit at the Territorial Directorate of the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate in La Rioja, and as team leader at both the Deputy Directorate General for Inspection on Social Security, Irregular Economy and Immigration, and the Territorial Directorate of the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate in Madrid. Between 2018 and 2020, he directed the National Office for the Fight against Fraud and sat on the board of the European Labour Authority, also representing Spain on the European Platform Tackling Undeclared Work.
